Porras is a retired Major General and commander of the Engineering and Weapon Systems Support Division at the Logistic Command. He completed his studies as an engineer in the Chilean Air Force (aeronautical) and the Chilean Navy (electronic) in 1983, and later earned an MBA in International Business.

He held various roles at ENAER, including project engineer and project leader in the Engineering division. His leadership roles and competencies enabled him to pursue an international career in countries such as The Netherlands, Belgium, and France, which gave him a wealth of international experience.

After his retirement as Major General, he started as a Planning and Strategic Development Manager and then spent the last 6 years as a Commercial Manager at ENAER. Porras’ experience and journey with ILIAS Solutions began in 2006, where he learned about the significant differentiators including the proven value for both Fleet Management and MRO, all within a single codebase that is highly configurable.
