To manage the complexity of Defense organizations, IT management systems are a necessity. Many forces have tailored solutions covering part of the process. These systems are in most cases home grown. Also several forces opted to solve the requirement with general ERP systems that are used in a wide variety of industries. However, it turns out that these systems require bespoke development to fulfill specific military requirements leading to limitations in the field and a high Total Cost of Ownership. The ILIAS Defense Platform has been designed from the start with the military end-user in mind. Input and requirements from defense organizations have been turned into effective capability. Our commercial off-the-shelf software can be specifically configured to support the core processes of defense organizations, end-to-end. Since the mid-1990s, our platform has been enhanced and matured to satisfy defense customer’s individual needs with two releases per year; while always respecting international defense standards. While defense requirements continuously drive our capability, the result shows to be effective in non-defense environments with complex assets as well.
